TURKEY RECIPE FOR NEW YEARS

We are coming with our recipe for 8 people with a cooking time of 3 hours. The best dish of the night that everyone will like with its taste and appearance;

Materials;

  • One medium turkey
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • A teaspoon of tomato paste
  • a tablespoon of honey
  • A teaspoon of mustard
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • a teaspoon of salt

For Inside;

  • One treasure leaf
  • A teaspoon of black pepper
  • A sprig of rosemary

For Chestnut Stuffed Rice;

  • A cup of boiled chestnuts
  • 3 cups hot broth
  • Allspice with the tip of a teaspoon
  • a teaspoon of salt
  • a teaspoon of cinnamon
  • A teaspoon of black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of pine nuts
  • 2 tablespoons of currants (soaked in warm water)
  • Two medium onions
  • 2 spoonful butter
  • A tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 cups of baldo rice

After cleaning and smoking the inside, dry the whole turkey that you washed in plenty of water and dip it in sauce.

In a small bowl, mix olive oil, honey, tomato paste, freshly squeezed lemon juice, salt and mustard.

Spread the sauce you have prepared on all sides of the turkey with the help of a brush. Place rosemary, black peppercorns and bay leaves on the inside of the turkey.

Leave the turkey that you bought in a lightly floured large size baking bag or baking tray, to bake for 2.5 hours in a preheated 170 degree oven.

After adding the pine nuts, fry them with onions until they turn one color. Transfer the washed baldo rice to the rice pot until the clear water comes out.

After soaking in plenty of water, add the washed currants, black pepper, cinnamon, allspice and salt. Cook the rice, to which you add hot broth and boiled chestnuts cut into small pieces, on low heat and in the pot with the lid closed until the water is absorbed.

Cover the chestnuts with a paper towel or cotton kitchen cloth over the rice and leave them to infuse.

After portioning the roasted turkey like pomegranate out of the oven, serve hot with chestnut stuffed rice.
